Job Description


For more than 50 years, the African Wildlife Foundation (AWF) has been a key player in African Conservation and sustainable development. AWF is seeking a motivated and high performing Program Finance and Logistics Assistant responsible for providing technical support, advice and assistance in Finance to the Congo Landscape Program to ensure compliance with all AWF and donor budgetary and procedural requirements. This position will also ensure efficient and effective coordination and management of logistics and support landscape procurement to ensure good value for money. This entails the provision to Congo Landscape Manager and staff with regular assistance and advice in understanding, interpreting and implementing AWF and donors policies and procedures regarding finance, assets and procurement along with maintaining a good relationship with and timely reporting to the headquarter and partners. The position holder will be based in Kinshasa, DRC and will report to the Finance and Administration Officer  

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related field.
  •  Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar position (preferably in an international NGO set-up or busy working environment)
  • Demonstrated interest and understanding of key administrative functions ranging from insurance management, tenancy agreements, procurement, administration and cross border logistics
  • Proactive nature of problem solving and multiple tasks management
  • Familiarization in dealing with government departments, revenue authorities and immigration departments
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to take initiative and work with minimal supervision and a sense of urgency, quick learner / Fast adaptor with high level of flexibility
  • Excellent organizational aptitude and coordinating ability
  • Ability to assess and react appropriately to changing circumstances
  • Ability to pay attention to detail and meet strict deadlines
  • Ability to proactively share information as needed
  • Computer literacy – proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Fluency in French preferred. Knowledge of English is an advantaged
